There may be a raft of technical reasons why you should have a unique email address, but the most important is because it will never lose you business.

First Steps

The first step is simple – you will need a domain name. You don’t even need a website and the domain name can be the same or different from your website address. That will all depend upon your business plan and strategy however, most companies today choose the same domain name for emailing as they do for their website. Your website therefore may be www.yourdomain.com.au and your email yourname@yourdomain.com.au.

Once you have purchased a domain name you will then need an email hosting account. Many other web designer and hosting providers will set your email up on the same Web server as your website. We do not recommend this type of deployment. We provision your email on a server dedicated to email. It has different resources to a web server and can accommodate more space for storage at lower cost.

Finally, having your email hosted separately means that if one area is down for maintenance, you still have the other up and running. With information technology, redundancy and reliability is a major factor and we find this method of balancing email and web services the most reliable.
